The Russian Riverkeeper works to protect the Russian River, a vital public resource, from gravel mining, waste water dumping, and any other actions that may degrade the health of the watershed. The Riverkeeper responds to citizen complaints as well as makes frequent patrols to enforce existing laws protecting the watershed. The Russian Riverkeeper is a part of the Waterkeeper Alliance, which is a worldwide watershed protection program.

This film contains interviews with Don McEnhill, the current Russian Riverkeeper; Dr. Martin "Marty" Griffin, a co-founder of Friends of the Russian River; and Virginia Strom-Martin, a former Assemblywoman for the Russian River watershed area, as well as a lifelong advocate for the Russian River.
